Cosmetic Dentist - Dr. Mary Walsh-Cole

Dr. Walsh-Cole graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts in 1980. She completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Southern California Medical Center, Los Angeles the following year. In 1982 she married Stan Cole and they moved to Encinitas, California. She purchased her dental practice in 1984 and moved to the current location in 1991.

 

 

Dr. Walsh-Cole believes strongly in continuing education. She received her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1995, and her Mastership in 2005. This required over 1,000 hours of continuing education, 400 hours of hands-on courses, and passage of an eight hour comprehensive examination in all phases of dentistry.

 

After completion of the core curriculum at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), a post-graduate institute for dental education, her focus has been aesthetic reconstruction of the mouth with an emphasis on cosmetic and neuromuscular dentistry.

 

Professional Recognition

 

Each year from 2007 through 2011 she was voted as San Diego Top Dentist by her peers. This recognition was featured in San Diego Magazine. In 1999, she was selected as a member of the 3M-Espe Council for Innovative Dentistry, and participated in evaluations of products and marketing ideas.

On a Personal Note

 

Dr. Walsh-Cole was born and raised in Long Beach, California. She attended college first in Long Beach, then transferred to U.C. Berkeley, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She and Stan have three children: Alicia, Kelsey and Kammann.
